So what do we know about the Orange Bombs history? To be honest, not that much. We bought the car of USA Classic Car Collection based in Appingedam, the Netherlands. Bas, the owner, who is a rare car salesman with a conscience, found the car in Modesto, California. He gave us all the history he had on the car. This means all old bills, orginal car manuals and pictures he collected before buying it. This feels like a real asset.
Because we had the old bills we also had a phone number of the original owner, Scott. We got in touch with him during a trip we took to the US. He could tell us he bought the car in Temacula, California when he did not intent to buy it. He found it while checking out an other bomb to buy and could not resist the rust free car just sitting there.
He brought her home in 2009 and worked on her to get her technically good and running like a charm again. He tweaked the engine and the transmission but kept everything original.
He also told us that he was the 15th owner of the car and that he suspected that before the car was in Temacula, it would have been in Mexico due to the lack of any rust on the car.
And that is where the trail ends. Not to big of a history for a car this old and we might find out more later, but we are sure to make our own history with it. Just wait and see.
