All details concerning the rear axle we chose for the orange bomb. Please note that this or any modification we did to the orange bomb was done to what we considered the best choice for our vehicle. It might very well not be the best choice for you. Be sure to get well informed before you make any decisions. I am not a professional, just sharing the choices we made for your information only. Ford 9 inch housing & axle, Roadster Round Back Width (From wheel flange to wheel flange): 61 inch...
During the first >200 km-drive I made this year I had some trouble keeping the car going in a straight line when the road was not perfect. And to be honest when would that ever be? I knew I had to change something, but what would it be? Even though I had the wheels aligned by a professional after I build the drive train, I thought it would be a good thing to start there. A new alignment might just do the trick. I don't know how you are doing this, but I always have a lot of trouble in...
Racing blocks on the fan. When changing the 4 bladed fan with a 6 bladed one, I immediately knew it needed something special. A lot of masking tape and patience, this little whimsical touch makes me smile each time I see it.
This one took some time. Mainly due to a not orangebomb related hospitalization of a couple of weeks and the amount of time it took to be back on our feet again. The steering was, as can be expected of a 71 year old, not as smooth as we wanted. The bomb not react as soon as you steered, in fact it took quite a while for it to react at all. First we dismantled the steering gearbox to see what we were working with. And it all looked very pretty, especially since we had no idea how it was supposed...
As things always take more time then you anticipate, so did this project. On previous builds our workspace gave us some challenges. Being made of thin iron plate, summers were like working in an oven and winters kept us dressing in more then 4 layers at least to keep warm. Dutch weather demands an insulated workshop. We started in April. 8 cm of insulation was applied. And last weekend we finally finished. The orangebomb drove to the new garage and we are ready for the first bolds to be...

Where the North of the Netherlands touches the sea and fishermen bring their catch to shore. Classic auto enthusiast gather for a yearly meeting to catch up and get a fish.
When a door does not close the way it should, you generally ignore it. At least that is what we tent to do. Until the key literally breaks of and you know this door will never close the way it should again. Time for an old fashioned eBay search for items that are way too overpriced for our budget
It took weeks and weeks. But today the first boxes of our US shopping spree arrived. Anxious in the car for the last miles to our home. Will all be there? Will nothing be damaged? All was unpacked and checked.
In search of cheap parts we end up at a Swap meet in Auburn, California. They start at the awfully indecent hour of 6 AM on a Sunday morning. Given the fact that we have to drive for an hour there too, that is just way to early for us
The Orange Bomb should be low. That much we know, the how was a different ordeal
